Clinical Assistant Professor, The University of Houston

The K-12 Educational Leadership Program within the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies seeks one (1) clinical assistant professor. We are looking for a new colleague who shares our department’s philosophical commitment to developing educational leaders who will advance innovative, efficient, and socially just education policy solutions through collaborative research, praxis, and practice activities. In particular, our program aims, through its scholarship, teaching, and service to its students and graduates, to strengthen educational opportunities and outcomes for all students, particularly those individuals historically underserved by our current educational and social systems.

For our clinical track position, we welcome applicants who are research-based practitioners interested in engaging in instructional and other activities focused broadly on developing effective school and district leaders. Priority will be placed on candidates who have experience in the following areas: demonstrated effectiveness as a school and district leader; expertise in establishing and maintaining district partnerships; knowledge and application of state and federal leadership standards; and/or an understanding of best practices with respect to adult learning. Additionally, importance will be placed on applicants who have deep understanding of the Texas K-12 educational context.

Qualifications: Our program currently offers two innovative degrees: an Ed.D. in Professional Leadership and an M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision. Competitive applicants are expected to hold a terminal degree in a related field.
