Research Associate-Fixed Term - MSU Education Policy Innovation Collaborative

The Department of Educational Administration at the College of Education at Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking a research associate in the MSU Education Policy Innovation Collaborative (EPIC), a new policy lab dedicated to the analysis of longitudinal data for the scientific studies of K-12 students, teachers and schools. EPIC is part of a new partnership between the College of Education, the State of Michigan and the University of Michigan. The express mission of this partnership will be to provide access to data for researchers engaging in high-quality, timely, relevant scholarship in support of education policy and policy makers. This is a fixed term 12-month appointment for one year, with the option of an annual renewal after the initial appointment.

The research associate will coordinate and participate in the activities of Center research, including:

  • preparation of policy reports and oral briefings to state decision-makers and public readership
  • work with MSU faculty and staff on the development of long-term research projects consistent with Center and state strategic research priorities

Required Degree

Minimum Requirements
A PhD in education or public policy, economics, sociology or other field. Strong quantitative and data management skills—including experience with Stata or similar statistical software.

Desired Qualifications
Minimum qualifications and expressed interest in pursuing independent and collaborative policy-oriented research in the field of public education.
