Ascendium Postsecondary Scholar Award

We are excited to announce the Ascendium Postsecondary Scholar Award. This award is made possible through a grant from Ascendium Education Philanthropy, to provide support for researchers working in postsecondary education and workforce development to attend the AEFP 2026 Conference. The Ascendium Postsecondary Scholar Award is designed to make the conference more accessible to researchers who would not otherwise be able to attend the annual conference.

Awardees will receive $1,450 to use toward conference registration, membership, travel, and/or accommodations. Recipients will be notified February 20. Please review the information below for details on eligibility and selection criteria.

Eligibility criteria:
  • Must have an active, paid AEFP membership (i.e., student or regular)
  • PhD students and professionals only. Not open to undergraduate, Master's students, or retired individuals.
  • Postsecondary or workforce development researcher
Preference will be given to applicants:
  • Presenting a paper or poster at AEFP 2026. Note: Applicants do not need to be presenting to be eligible, but must attend the conference.
  • Who do not have access to other sources of funding
  • Who have not received other AEFP 2026 funding opportunities (e.g., Conference Ambassador, Roe L. Johns Travel Grant, and/or conference subsidy). Recipients for these other funding opportunities will be announced by the end of January / before the deadline to submit an applicaiton for the Ascendium Award.
