As AEFP continues to examine its own practices and policies focused on justice and equity, we invite applications from members for fellow positions on AEFP’s new Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.


Fellows will commit to serving on the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee for two years. Fellows will be expected to work with the committee to identify barriers to justice and equity, propose potential solutions, and implement changes. The concrete tasks will vary depending on who is selected to be a fellow but may include helping to: create and run focus groups, analyze membership data for the association, or guide future policy creation within AEFP. AEFP will cover the membership fees and conference registration costs for the selected fellows.

Application Process

AEFP will accept nominations (including self-nominations) from its members for these fellowships. Initial nominations require just the name and email of the nominee. Scholars at all ranks–from graduate students to Full Professors–are encouraged to apply. AEFP hopes to welcome a diverse group of fellows along multiple dimensions (including race, gender, ability status, sexual orientation, first-gen status).

Those nominated will need to submit a 1 page, single-spaced response to the following questions:

1)     What do you think ​is the current state of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion at AEFP?

2)     Detail one concrete example of how AEFP can improve.

One-page submissions will be due by October 7th. Applicants will be notified by mid-October if they have been selected.
