Advancing Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award

The AEFP Advancing Justice, Equity, Diversity, And Inclusion (JEDI) Award recognizes individuals at any career stage, in any role or sector, with an impactful record of research, teaching, service, practice, or public engagement around justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in education. Advancing JEDI encompasses, but is not limited to, advancing disability rights and justice, gender equity, LGBTQIA+ equity, racial justice, and/or socioeconomic justice.

Selection Criteria

Quality and magnitude of the nominee’s impact on advancing justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and/or belonging in education based on their scholarship, teaching, service, practice, public engagement, and/or other notable activities. In addition, the awards committee will look favorably on nominees with a history of engagement with AEFP.

 Awards

The recipient will receive a monetary award and a plaque presented at the annual AEFP conference.

Submission Process and Nominations

Anyone may nominate individuals for this award. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. It is not necessary to be nominated by someone else.

Submission Requirements and Nominations

To nominate yourself or someone else, please do the following by the deadline (which will be announced in the fall).

  • Complete this brief AEFP JEDI Award Nomination Form
  • Send an email to info@aefpweb.org with a subject line that includes the text “JEDI Award Nomination” and the nominee’s First and Last Name. The email should include the nominee’s resume/CV (ideally including information on past AEFP involvement). The email can be sent by either the nominator or the nominee.
