Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership
General Description: The University of North Florida’s Department of Leadership, School Counseling and Sport Management is seeking a 9-month, tenure-earning, Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership. This position will report to The Chair of Leadership, School Counseling and Sport Management. Position responsibilities include contributing to the mission and vision of the College of Education and Human Services and engaging in a 2/2 teaching load or its equivalent and service. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in inclusive and engaging instruction, high-quality scholarship, and cultivating community relationships. Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in educational leadership or a discipline closely related to educational leadership.
- Record of or emerging record of high-quality scholarship.
- Record of excellence in teaching at the higher education level.
- Record of partnerships (research or practice) with school or community partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience pursuing external funding.
- PK-12 leadership experience, including the evaluation of teachers.
- Professional experience as a principal/assistant principal, district administrator, assistant superintendent, superintendent, and/or district administrator.
- Experience supervising and mentoring practicum students in the field.
- Experience supervising and evaluating teachers.
- Experience leading, teaching, mentoring, or otherwise supporting the development of people/students from underserved populations.
- Experience with designing and teaching courses in a variety of modalities (e.g., face to face, hybrid, online).
